Calcutta: The East-Zone table tennis championships will not take place in Bengal this season. According to BTTA sources, the All India Table Tennis Federation has awarded the tournament to Jharkhand.

It is almost after seven years that the tournament will not be played in the state. Last year, it took place in Durgapur.

However, the exact venue for this year’s meet has not yet been finalised.

On the other hand, this year’s senior nationals will take place at Jammu. BTTA was also a contender but lost out.
