US firm to expand local base

US-based Kennametal, leading global tooling solutions supplier, plans to double the size of its Indian company in sales turnover in the next three to five years and invest Rs 50 crore in the next 12 to 18 months. Chairman Markos I Tambakeras said that India and China operations would continue to attract investment.

Aptech pact

Aptech and Academy of Learning, Canada, have formed a joint venture, operations of which are expected to begin in April. Aptech’s courses will now be offered through Academy of Learning and vice versa. Aptech will develop content for the academy and new centres will be set up in the US and other developed markets.

TiE Mumbai

TiE Mumbai will host a delegation of venture capitalists which is visiting Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad in the first week of February 7 to explore the economic scenario. The delegates include JP Morgan Partners, Bay Partners, Sigma Partners, Celerity Ventures and Artiman Ventures.
