Woods pat for Atwal

New Delhi, Jan. 31 (PTI): Arjun Atwal was on Friday congratulated by world No. 1 Tiger Woods for making it to the US PGA Tour and then challenged to a round of nine holes.

“Hi Arjun! Congratulations on securing your PGA Tour card and welcome to the Tour,” Woods greeted Atwal and shook his hand.Atwal was practising with friend Gilberto Morales of Venezuela at the Isleworth Golf Club near his Orlando base when Woods came in and walked straight up to them.

“I was flattered. He remembered me from playing alongside him at the Johnnie Walker Classic a couple of years back,” said Atwal in a media release on Saturday. Woods invited them for lunch. Before teaming up with a friend to play nine holes with Atwal and Morales. Atwal’s team won 1-up.

Randhawa 25th

Meanwhile, in Bangkok, Jyoti Randhawa was placed 25th with a third-round two-under 70 at the APGA Tour Johnnie Walker Classic Saturday. Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn took a slender one-stoke lead (with a total of 14-under-par 202).
