New Delhi, Feb. 8: After pre-paid cards for telecom users, the Reliance group is contemplating introduction of a similar product for energy consumers.
“We are currently evaluating alternative technologies for consumers of electricity supplied by our distribution companies,” Rakesh Aggarwal, chief executive of BSES Rajdhani and Yamuna Power, said.
BSES had been examining a number of technologies, including pre-paid meters, automatic meters and remote meters, for billing electricity consumers.
There was a possibility of introducing a combination of different methods, Aggarwal said.
