Travel tight with wares of vendors

A special compartment should be allotted for vendors in local trains, who are a menace on the Tarakeswar-Howrah route. They block the narrow passage between the rows of seats with huge baskets of vegetables and fruits, scarcely leaving any space for passengers to move.

River of affront

The riverbank off the Nimtala burning ghat is an eyesore. Several unauthorised structures and shops have come up in the area, which turns into a den of criminals after dark. The ghat deserves better care, as it is where Tagore was cremated.
