Ridden by Naill McCullagh, Algeciras scored an upset victory in the 1,200m S. C. Jain Sprinters’ Trophy, the star attraction at the Mumbai races held on Sunday. Vinayak saddled the five-year-old by Cristofori out of Miss Eye Dee Eye. Ridden off the pace till heads turned for home, the 10-1 shot covered good ground in the last 200 metres of the race to win untroubled.
