Travolta, Sarandon to present Oscars

Los Angeles, Feb. 21 (AFP): Hollywood icons John Travolta, Tim Robbins, his partner Susan Sarandon and Sandra Bullock have joined the list of this year’s Oscar presenters, organisers said.

The quartet of movie heavyweights signed on to hand out the golden statuettes that mark the ultimate accomplishment in movie-making at the glittering February 29 Oscars ceremony.

The Pulp Fiction and Saturday Night Fever star, Travolta is himself a two-times best-actor Oscar nominee for the two hit films that marked his career, made in 1977 and 1994 respectively.

He is currently filming Be Cool, a sequel to Get Shorty, and will be seen in The Punisher followed by Ladder 49 and A Love Song for Bobby Long.

Long-term tinseltown couple and political activists Sarandon and Robbins will do turns on the Oscars stage, even if best supporting actor nominee Robbins fails to win for his role in Mystic River.
