Bhowmick ban set to be reduced

The two-year ban on East Bengal coach Subhash Bhowmick is set to be reduced. The IFA authorities informed on Saturday that the ban could be something “between six months to one year”. The decision will be taken in the governing body meeting of the association on March 1.

Meanwhile, the IFA has granted Rs 2 lakh to East Bengal for the hosting of the three AFC Cup home matches.

State basketball

Border Security Force (SB) and Hooghly District won the men’s and women’s titles in the 53rd state basketball championships held at the Dum Dum Central Jail ground. Dum Dum Vikas Sporting Club and Coal India Sports Promotion Board won the sub-junior and junior titles, respectively.
