Panacea to sell OTC drugs
Panacea Biotech, a pharmaceutical firm, will foray into healthcare over the counter (OTC) medicines soon and launch a slew of products simultaneously in overseas markets. “We have floated a separate business unit for a range of OTC products for cardio-vascular diseases and cholesterol problems,” joint managing director Rajesh Jain said. Panacea will also launch the products in Europe, Asia and Latin American countries.
Voltas fridge
Voltas Ltd, a premier air-conditioning and refrigeration company, has introduced Teenie Weenie, a 55-litre refrigerator priced within Rs 5,000. The model is targeted at the urban youth. The company has also introduced four premium refrigerators under sub-brand Xcel. These refrigerators are available in 175 litre, 190 litre, 220 litre and 250 litre capacities.

IBS Software Services Pvt Ltd, a software solutions provider for the global travel, transportation and logistics segments, has entered into an agreement with Cendant Travel Distribution Services, a leading player in travel distribution services, to form a strategic relationship to promote iRes — IBS’ innovative passenger services system in the airline industry.
Spanish move

South Eastern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, has achieved its targeted coal production of 69 MTs well in advance on March 23.
Bio-Rad launch
Bio-Rad Laboratories has launched D10 haemoglobin testing system, a new platform for Thalassaemia screening, in Calcutta. The instrument also helps to test haemoglobin for sickle cell anaemia.
