Berlin: Germany’s Sven Ottke has announced his retirement from boxing after successfully defending his IBF and WBA super-middleweight titles against Swedish challenger Armand Krajnc.

The 36-year old Berliner won on points after 12 rounds on Saturday.

Ottke was cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd of 8,000 in the eastern German town of Magdeburg, where he had celebrated some of his biggest moments in the sport.
