New export policy in August

New Delhi, July 5: The government will announce a new foreign trade policy next month aimed at boosting exports, especially from the agriculture sector. In a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, minister of state for commerce and industry, V. K. S. Elangovan said, “A new foreign trade policy is under consideration of the government ... The new policy would focus on thrust areas, which includes agriculture.” The new policy is expected to boost exports and create additional employment.

Wockhardt

Mumbai, July 5: The Centre for Drug Evaluation & Research, an arm of the US Food and Drug Administration, has approved Wockhardt Ltd’s sterile injectable, sterile bulk drugs (active pharmaceutical ingredient) and formulation facilities at three locations in India.

TDSAT move

New Delhi, July 5: The Telecom Dispute Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today adjourned the hearing of the direct cellular connectivity case between BSNL and Trai to August 25. It asked BSNL to file its reply in the next two weeks.

IL&FS schemes

Mumbai, July 5: Ten schemes of IL&FS, with assets under management of Rs 1,800 crore, have been transferred to UTI Mutual Fund with effect from today following their acquisition, a UTI MF release said.

New Delhi, July 5: Maruti Udyog Limited today unveiled a new-look Esteem at Rs 40,000 less than the price of the existing car.
