Panel to decide LNG price
New Delhi, July 21: The government today decided to refer to the Tariff Commission the pricing of imported liquefied natural gas supplied as feedstock to domestic consumers. “We have agreed to refer the question of post cost-insurance-freight cost of LNG to the Tariff Commission to examine if it is rational,” said finance minister P. Chidambaram. Power and fertiliser ministries had contended that Petronet LNG, a consortium of public sector oil firms, was charging too high a tariff for regassifying LNG imported from Qatar.
