Indian institutes of technology (IIT) , Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras,Roorkee

LAST DATE: January 7, 2005, for receipt of completed application forms at IITs.

SUBJECT: Joint Entrance Examination 2005 for admission to undergraduate courses at the above-mentioned seven Indian Institutes of Technology, Institute of Technology — BHU, Varanasi and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad. The screening test will be held on Sunday,April 10, 2005, and the main examination will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2005.

ELIGIBILITY: Only those students who will qualify for the screening test of JEE-2005 will be allowed to appear in the main examination in May. Candidates need to have passed Ten Plus Two or an equivalent examination, or a pass in three/ four-year diploma recognised by AICTE or by a State Board of Technical Education. Candidates appearing in any of these exams in 2005 are also eligible to apply; a proof of having passed such an exam has to be produced on or before September 30, 2005. Age limit: For general/ DS category candidates — date of birth not earlier than October 1, 1980 and for SC/ST/PD category — date of birth not earlier than October 1, 1975.

PARTICULARS: Pattern of Examination: Cost of application material is Rs 300 for SC/ST category candidates and Rs 600 for all other candidates. Application material can be obtained from the following designated branches of the following banks —

The demand draft for the cost of the application material must be drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of “Chairman, JEE” of the respective IIT payable at the corresponding city. Issue of application material has commenced from November 29, 2004. Last date for receipt of postal request for application material is December 24, 2004 and last date for issue of application forms at designated bank counters is January 7, 2005.
