My weekends are always divided into two distinct halves
? between work and family. The only time I get off is on Sunday, which is why
I ensure that I wrap up shooting by the first half of the day as the kids are
allowed to sleep in till late. Once work is over, the rest of the day is dedicated
to the family and kids.
I think it is very important for kids to engage in
some form of physical activity and that?s why I try and include some kind of sport
or game in their evening schedule. My husband and I both prefer the outdoors,
so we take the children horse-riding or for a walk to the park. This time is sacrosanct
and reserved for the kids.
Once my children have been tucked into bed, my husband
and I chill out at home. We love talking and chatting and so we catch up on local
gossip, current affairs and other news. We usually start with watching news on
TV and then the conversation just carries on. We have known each other since childhood,
so talking to each other about just about everything is natural. We do it with
equal enthusiasm even today.
Neither my husband nor I enjoy parties or doing dinners,
so we spend a lot of time at home with our family and friends. The only exception
would be a movie, which we try and restrict only to Saturday nights. As the kids
are quite young, we try and spend weekends at home.
However, if I do manage to get a long weekend off,
we take off to our farmhouse in Dahanu. A few hours from Mumbai, Dahanu is the
perfect getaway. Quiet, serene and away from the hustle and bustle of city life,
the farmhouse is the best weekend getaway by far.
