Trinamul, CPM clash

Calcutta, June 2: Supporters of the Trinamul Congress and the CPM clashed with each other over wall writing today at Baisnabghata in the southern fringes of the city.

A large contingent of police personnel from Baisnabghata had to rush to the spot to bring the situation under control.

Child missing

Barasat: Ayan Banerjee, a student of Class IV, has been missing from his residence at Sodepur, under Ghola police station area, since Wednesday evening. Police is probing if the boy has been kidnapped , though the family is yet to get any ransom call.

Temple theft

Surul: An idol and other valuables worth Rs 5 lakh were stolen from a temple in Birbhum on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, Kanchan Ghosh, the sweeper at the temple found the door broken and the idol and jewellery missing. No one has been arrested so far.

In-laws held

Howrah: Police have arrested the husband and parents-in-law of 21-year-old housewife Susmita De who was found hanging on Wednesday night from the ceiling of her bedroom under Golabari police station in Howrah.

Zanskar ban
