Einstein ring

Massive objects like stars or entire galaxies distort the fabric of spacetime, spreading the light passing near them. If it occurs directly between the earth and the distant object, light gets distorted and bent into an arc-like Einstein ring. Astronomers at the European Southern Observatory have found the most distant Einst-ein ring ever seen. Images taken by Very Large Telesco-pe in Chile show the full ring.

Unequal trust

Men and women trust strangers in a different way. Psychologists at the Ohio State University found that men tended to trust people who were part of a group like a club with them, while women were more likely to trust strangers who shared some personal connection, such as a friend of a friend. Men are no way less social, the study adds.

Twin variety

What causes dissimilarities in babies originating from the same fertilised egg? Spanish scientists say in the journal Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences that varying influences of the factors like environment, smoking, physical activity and diet lead to the twins’ genes showing up in different ways.
