Subramaniam joins support staff

Colombo: Tata Consultancy Services’ Shiva Subramaniam, who worked with the Team India probables on the opening day of the final camp in Bangalore, has joined Rahul Dravid and Co. in Dambulla.

Subramaniam, a master in the Edward de Bono line of lateral thinking, arrived on Thursday and will be part of the support staff for a few days.

His involvement is at coach Greg Chappell’s behest.

“As of now, I’m around for a couple of days... Perhaps, till the first two matches of the tri-series,” Subramaniam told The Telegraph, when contacted at the team hotel in Dambulla.

India’s opening match, on Saturday, is against hosts Sri Lanka. On Sunday, Dravid’s men cross swords with the West Indies.
