Smallest MP3

The smallest MP3 player DAH-1500i, nicknamed ‘Cube’, has been developed by Japan-based mobiBLU. It’s less than one cubic inch and weighs 0.6 ounce (the smallest Apple product, iPod Shuffle, is about three inches in length and weighs 0.78 ounce). Just like iPod Shuffle, the Cube comes in 512KB and 1GB editions, which respectively add up to about 120 and 240 songs. The Cube features an FM radio receiver and voice-recording capabilities, can be used as a portable USB drive and comes in six colours. The battery life is 8-10 hours which falls short of the iPod Shuffle’s 12-hour capability. However, PC Magazine calls it “the smallest, most impressively full-featured player with flash memory”.

Smart mobile

Samsung Electronics has introduced the SPH-S4000, a new motion-recognition phone with health monitoring and leisure functions. The S4000 has an innovative motion-sensing capability which allows users to have full control of MP3 playback simply by moving the phone from side to side. The motion sensing capability also adds a new dimension to mobile games and introduces a variety of new entertainment features. The beat-box, music box and motion effects functions are controlled by a simple movement of users’ hand.
