WEST BENGAL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF JURIDICAL SCIENCES

SUBJECT: A written test to be held for admissions to the five-year BSc/BA, LLB (honours) course to be held on January 29, 2006, at major cities of India.

ELIGIBILITY: In order to be eligible for this test you are required to have passed the twelfth standard exam with 50 per cent marks in aggregate and 35 per cent marks in each subject. Those appearing for qualifying exam by April 2006 may also apply. Age limit: 21 years (22 years for SC/ ST) as on December 31, 2006.

PARTICULARS: Application forms can be downloaded from the NUJS website: www.nujs.edu. The completed applications are to be sent to the Registrar of the university with a demand draft/ pay order for Rs 850 favouring NUJS, Calcutta, payable at Calcutta.

UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

Last date: For receipt of completed applications: January 2, 2006. For candidates residing abroad or in certain remote areas (specified in the detailed exam notice published in Employment News or Rozgar Samachar, December 3, 2005), the date is January 9, 2006.

SUBJECT: The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2006, to be held on May 14, 2006 at various centres across the country, by the Union Public Service Commission, for recruitment to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and certain other Group ?A? and Group ?B? central services/ posts.

ELIGIBILITY: The candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years old as on August 1, 2006. The upper age limit is relaxable for scheduled castes (SC)/ scheduled tribes (ST)/ other backward classes (OBC) and certain other categories of candidates specified in the notice. He/she should have a degree of a recognised university or an equivalent qualification. Candidates must be physically fit according to the regulations given in appendix-III of rules for the civil services examination, 2006, published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated December 3, 2005. The maximum number of attempts permissible to different categories of aspirants, who are otherwise eligible, will be as follows ? four for general candidates, seven for OBCs, no limit for SCs/ STs.

PARTICULARS: The candidates are required to apply in the common application form devised by the commission for it?s examinations, which can be purchased from the designated head post offices/ post offices (specified in appendix III of the notice) throughout the country against a cash payment of Rs 20. Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination. In case of any difficulty in obtaining the application forms from the designated HPOs/ POs, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post master or UPSC?s ?Form Supply Monitoring Cell? over telephone (011-23385271) or fax (011-23387310). General and OBC candidates have to pay an exam fee of Rs 50 through central recruitment fee stamp only. SC/ ST/ physically handicapped (PH) candidates are exempted from payment of fees. All applications must reach the ?Secretary, Union Public Service Commission, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069? either by hand or by post/ speed post or by courier.
