Mutuals to invest in gold

Mumbai, Jan. 24: Sebi has amended regulations to allow mutual funds to invest in both gold and gold-related instruments. According to the amended regulations, a gold exchange traded fund (GETF) ? a mutual fund scheme that invests primarily in gold and gold-related instruments ? shall be subject to certain investment restrictions. Initial issue expenses in respect of any GETF scheme shall not exceed 6 per cent of the funds raised under that scheme, Sebi said today.

Exports panel

New Delhi, Jan. 24: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has agreed to set up a task force to address exporters? problems. The group will comprise finance minister P. Chidambaram, commerce minister Kamal Nath and plan panel deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia.

AT Kearney

Boston, Jan. 23: Management consultant A.T. Kearney has bought the firm from parent Electronic Data Systems Corp. Financial terms of the deal were, however, not disclosed.

Goldman chief

Mumbai, Jan. 24: Goldman Sachs has appointed Brooks Entwistle as chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs (India) L.L.C. Entwistle will be based in Mumbai.

CRB Capital

New Delhi, Jan. 24: Delhi High Court today ordered the revival of defunct CRB Capital Markets after accepting the firm?s latest revival package, which includes clearing a liability of Rs 450 crore due to the public.
