SUBJECT: Admission open for the two-years full-time postgraduate diploma programme in community cardiology (PGDCC).

ELIGIBILITY: MBBS graduates (MCI recognised) are eligible for this programme.

PARTICULARS: The student handbook and prospectus-cum-admission form can be obtained from the regional centres of IGNOU in the respective state capitals or the Public Information Unit (PIU), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 in person on payment of Rs 100 in cash or through post by sending an IPO/ demand draft of Rs 150 in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi. TATA INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL SCIENCES (TISS), MUMBAI

SUBJECT: Admission test and interview to be held in June, 2006, at TISS, V.N. Purav Marg, Deonar, Mumbai-400088, for admission to the 2006-2008 postgraduate degree programmes in (i) social work, (ii) health administration, (iii) hospital administration, (iv) development studies.

ELIGIBILITY: For programmes i to iii: a bachelors degree of a minimum of three years? duration or equivalent from a recognised university in any faculty with a minimum average of 50 per cent marks (40 per cent for SCs and STs). For programme iv: a bachelors degree of a minimum of three years? duration or its equivalent from a recognised university with a minimum average of 50 per cent marks (40 per cent for SCs/ STs) in arts/ commerce/ medicine/ law/ nursing or with a minimum average of 55 per cent marks (45 per cent for SCs /STs) in science or engineering. For programmes i and iv, students completing final year bachelors degree exams by June 24, 2006 will also be eligible to apply provided they obtain the required minimum percentage of marks specified above. For programmes ii and iii, candidates who are awaiting their final year bachelors degree exam results are not eligible to apply. Medical graduates should complete their internship before June 24, 2006. The age limit of 45 years is relaxable only under special circumstances.

PARTICULARS: Application forms and information brochures may be obtained (i) by sending a request letter to the Deputy Registrar (Gen. Admn.) of the institute along with a demand draft for Rs 550 drawn in favour of Registrar, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, payable at Mumbai, or, (ii) by downloading the form from www.tiss.edu and submitting it along with a demand draft for Rs 500 per form, towards the processing fee, or, (iii) from the cash counter at TISS, against a cash payment of Rs 500. Unemployed SC/ST candidates, whose parents/ guardian?s income were Rs 1 lakh or below for the financial year 2004-2005 can obtain the application form free of cost. They can (i) download the form from the website and submit it along with a true copy of caste/tribe certificate or (ii) send a request letter along with a true copy of caste/tribe certificate and a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope (20cmX25cm) to the Deputy Registrar (Gen. Admn.). A certain number of seats are reserved for SCs/ STs and persons with disability (PWDs) as per the Gol directives. 15 per cent supernumerary seats are reserved for foreign nationals. a limited number of hostel seats and scholarships are available.
