In the month of July last year, I did a print ad campaign for Mumbai-based jewellery house, Scintillating Jewellery. It was my first shoot in Mumbai and a very successful one at that. So to reward myself, I decided to buy a car with my own earnings.

Now I’ve always wanted a flaming red car. Moreover Hyundai cars have always impressed me when it comes to power, handling and looks. So, it was a toss-up between the Hyundai Accent and the Hyundai Getz. Finally though, I decided to go with the latter as the Accent is too big a car for me. That’s how I ended up with my Getz ? in passion red.

I started to take driving lessons, but abandoned them midway when I realised just how bad Calcutta’s traffic is. I didn’t want to get even a scratch on the car. So I did the next best thing ? I got a driver! Now I just enjoy moving about in my Getz without the bother of negotiating through the city’s roads.
