The more you read about frogs, the more interesting they seem to get. Some frogs make such a racket that they can be heard miles away! Have you ever wondered how little things like frogs can croak so loudly without bursting their own ear drums? Well, frogs have very special eardrums, which are called tympanic membranes and are located behind their eyes on the sides of their heads. In case of some frogs, however, the ears are almost invisible, while in case of others, they are easy to spot. The ears are connected to the frogs? lungs. When they hear noises, including their own voices, not only do their eardrums vibrate, but their lungs vibrate too! This interesting pressure system, scientists believe, is what enables frogs to bear their own loud calls!
