Sensex at new peak
Mumbai, Feb. 23: The sensex today hit a new intra-day peak of 10304.88 points on sustained buying by both foreign funds and operators. The index opened firm at 10268.51 and breached the 10300-mark within an hour. Selling pressure towards the fag-end of the session resulted in the index closing at 10224.05, a rise of 19.73 points or 0.19 per cent over its previous close.
Gujarat Gas
Mumbai, Feb. 23: Gujarat Gas Company Ltd today decided to acquire the business of BG India Energy Services Pvt. Ltd by way of transfer of assets and liabilities. It has also decided to increase its authorised share capital to Rs 45 crore from Rs 25 crore at present.
EPF meet
New Delhi, Feb. 23: The central board of trustees of the Employees Provident Fund today failed to take a decision on the proposed 5 per cent investment of EPF money in equity for mobilising additional resources. It also failed to decide on the means to meet the deficit in the pension fund.

Calcutta, Feb. 23: R.S. Lodha today submitted before the Company Law Board that the transfer of shares of East India Investment Company in his name was done to preserve the estate and avoid disintegration, as an executor and not for personal gains.

New delhi, Feb. 23: Jagson Airlines will purchase 20 A-321s planes at an estimated price of $1.3 billion from Airbus Industrie.
