Which are the good universities in Canada offering MS in biotechnology? What are the admission requirements?

ARNAB NAG

The University of Toronto at Mississauga offers a graduate programme in biotechnology. McGill University offers a graduate certificate programme in biotechnology, which is a short training programme, and a master of science (applied) course in biotechnology, a non-thesis masters programme. The University of Saskatchewan also offers a few graduate level courses in various aspects of biotech. The university’s College of Biotechnology has developed a Concentration Area in Biotechnology and Society in the Interdisciplinary Studies degree option. The university also offers an MBA course with a specialisation in biotech management. The admission criteria differ from one university to another. Most universities will require bachelors degrees in biological sciences or other related fields for their masters courses. Almost all universities will also ask for your TOEFL scores. Many universities might also ask for GRE scores.

I am a HS first-year student. After my Plus Two exam, I want to pursue a bachelors degree in economics at Kingston University in the UK. I’d like to know about the admission procedure and the total expense of this course.

International students are eligible to apply for an undergraduate course in economics at Kingston University. The university also welcomes applications from students who do not study economics or maths at the A-level. In other words, even if you are not pursuing either economics or maths now, you can still apply to the university. To seek admission to the university, you need to apply through UCAS, which is the central organisation in the UK through which applications are processed for entry to higher education (www.ucas.com). Kingston University offers five undergraduate courses in economics, namely applied economics joint honours (BA Hons), business economics BA (Hons), economics BA (Hons), financial economics BA (Hons) and global economics BA (Hons). The total expense will depend on whether your course is classroom-based or lab-based. The annual fees for a classroom-based course will be around ?8,250 while for a lab-based course, it will be around ?9,250. The university does offer some bursaries and the amount of money will depend on the exact course you wish to pursue.
