SUBJECT: Applications are invited for admission to the postgraduate diploma programme in industrial engineering (PGDIE), 2006-2008, and the fellow doctoral programme (FP).
ELIGIBILITY: For PGDIE: GATE qualified first class engineering/technology graduates in any branch. GATE qualifiers get teaching assistantship. Admission is based on group discussion and interview with some weightage given to GATE score. Selection of industry sponsored candidates with first class degree in engineering/technology (with a minimum of two years industry experience) is through personal interview only ? No GATE score is required. For FP: First class masters degree in engineering/technology/science/business management/commerce/ social sciences/humanities (full-time course). Selection will be on the basis of academic qualifications, experience and seminar presentation of selected area of research and interview. NET qualified candidates can also apply. External candidates have to stay in the campus for an year to undergo full-time course work. For industry sponsored candidates, a minimum of two-years experience at the executive level is required.

SUBJECT: All-India entrance test to be conducted at Guwahati and Calcutta (in eastern India) on May 21, 2006 from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm for admissions to the five-year BA,LLB (honours) and the two-year LLM programmes.
ELIGIBILITY: For the BA,LLB programme: Plus Two passed with not less than 50 per cent of marks in the aggregate (those appearing for the examination in March/April, 2006 can also apply). Age limit is below 20 years as on July 1, 2006 (22 years in case of SC/ST candidates). For the LLM programme: LLB/BL degree or an equivalent degree of a recognised university having secured not less than 55 per cent marks in the aggregate.
PARTICULARS: Admission will be on merit basis through the entrance test. Applications along with prospectus of BA,LLB (honours) programme will be also available at the main branches of the Indian bank at specified areas by paying Rs 1,020 (Rs 520 for SC/ST candidates). Application forms can also be downloaded from the university website and the filled-in application forms should be sent along with a demand draft for Rs 1,000 (Rs 500 for SC/ST candidates).
