Calcutta: The Trinamul Congress has demanded a CBI probe into an alleged “Rs 525.71-crore scam” involving the export of iron ore fines to China.

Party spokesman Dinesh Trivedi said Mamata Banerjee has already written to the Prime Minister, seeking a probe.

Food and civil supplies minister Naren De, the chairman of the corporation that made the export in 2004, said there were “some irregularities”.
