Big win for Customs

Calcutta Customs drubbed Students AC 10-0 in the preliminary rounds of the IndianOil Beighton Cup at CCFC on Wednesday. Customs? scorers were Harikesh Chaddha (4), Shakti Kumar Singh (3), Dilip Khalko, John Minz and Gurpreet Singh. At the East Bengal ground, Muslim Institute beat Police AC 4-0, the goals coming from Roshan Dung Dung (2), Manoj Tiro and Aslam Ali. In another match, CCFC Gremlins lost to Khalsa Blues 2-6. Manoj Mishra (2), Jagdip Singh (2), Zidan Herenz and Amardeep Singh struck for the winners, while Cyril Lindsay and Divyak Doshi reduced the margin for CCFC Gremlins.

Basketball

Eastern Railway defeated Police AC 73-44 in the quarter finals of the Division I Knockout basketball meet on Thursday. The winners led 42-25 at the breather.

Sporting win

Sporting Union moved into the semi-finals of the J.C. Mukherjee Trophy, beating Calcutta Customs by 270 runs.

BRIEF SCORES: Sporting Union 420. Calcutta Customs 150 (Ranadeb Bose 3/42). Sporting won by 270 runs.
