Calcutta, April 29: A 35-year-old man was injured after his Santro collided with an army jeep on Vidyasagar Setu around 8.30 tonight.

Police said the jeep was on its way to Howrah from Calcutta when it hit the car head-on.

The injured man, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was rushed to SSKM Hospital where his condition was stated to be “critical”.

The police said the driver of the jeep tried to escape but the vehicle was intercepted by a patrolling team of Shibpur police station. There was another person in the jeep apart from the driver.

The vehicle was taken to Hastings police station for investigation, the police said.
