Quarter final match washed out

The quarter final of the J.C. Mukherjee Trophy between Eastern Railway Sports Association (ERSA) and Kalighat will be replayed. The CAB will announce the dates later. Overnight rains washed out the second day?s play at the Jadavpur University?s Salt Lake campus on Monday. ERSA made 287 for the loss of nine wickets on Day I on Sunday.

Schools? meet

National High School defeated Combined XI by six wickets in the U-16 Inter-School Cricket Tournament for the B.C. Sen Trophy at the Vivekananda Park, on Monday.

Combined XI 97/8 in 25 ovs (Shoumik Roy 30; Birendra Roy 3/14). National High School 100/4 (Anand Gupta 37 n.o., Vivek Shaw 30). National High School won by 6 wkts.

Nursery soccer

Milan Samity beat Aryan 1-0 in a Pradyut Dutta Memorial Nursery Knock-Out Football Tournament at the BB-BC Ground, Salt Lake (IFA Ground) on Monday. Alamgir Ansari scored the solitary goal. Meanwhile in the other match, Shakti-O-Sanhati defeated Vivekananda Sports Foundation 1-0.

BHA league

CCFC crushed Calcutta Customs 5-0 in a BHA First Division group A match on Monday. In another match Calcutta Customs held ERSA to a barren draw. Julien Day (Elgin) and Salua Hockey Coaching Center were promoted to the second division after both the clubs drew 4-4 with each other in third division match on Monday.

Chess meet

The 28th Hoogly District Chess Championship will be held at the weekend at Ballavpur High School in Srerampore. The meet, which has a prize money of Rs 10,000, will be played in three different age groups for boys and girls, respectively..
