Stone splendour

What: Exhibition of Noorjehan, Mumbai-based jewellery designer Roopa Vohra’s latest line.

Where: Oriental Hall, Taj Bengal.

When: September 2 and 3.

Take a look: Lots of rubies, emeralds, blue and yellow topazes, pink and orange sapphires…Noorjehan plays with an extended colour palette. The thrust is mainly on the season’s hot favourites — earrings and bracelets — boasting her signature Mughal style.

Roopa will display close to 300 pairs of earrings — everything from dainty studs to shoulder-dusters. “Versatile and individualistic” in terms of both design and styling, these earrings are detachable and boast colour-changing options. The bracelets, very “cuff-like”, come in various finishes.

Pocket pinch: The prices begin at Rs 7,000. The heavier, couture pieces are tagged at Rs 20,000-plus.

Voiceover: “It is always great coming back to Calcutta because the response is terrific. People here are well exposed to art and hence appreciate and understand finer details,” said Roopa, whose client list boasts many a Bollywood beauty.
