SUBJECT: The fellow programme in management and related disciplines (FPM) is being offered in: management, with specialisation in behavioral sciences/finance and control/ human resource management/management information systems/strategic management/marketing/operations management; Related disciplines, with specialisation in economics/operations research and systems analysis/regional development/ sociology.

ELIGIBILITY: An applicant should have: (a) a masters degree in any subject or discipline or equivalent professional qualification with at least 55 per cent marks and minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks at the three-year bachelors degree level; or (b) a first class bachelors degree in engineering. If “Class” is not given by the institute, then 60 per cent marks (or equivalent grade point) will be considered equivalent to first class. In addition, all applicants must have obtained a minimum of 50 per cent marks in either the higher secondary or the higher secondary exam (or equivalent) of a board or university. Final year students can also apply. Such candidates will be provisionally admitted provided they complete all requirements for obtaining the degree before June 30, 2007. The admission of these candidates will remain provisional until they produce mark sheets proving that they satisfy the eligibility criteria. The deadline for submitting the final year degree mark sheets is December 31, 2007. For SC/ST candidates the eligibility criteria may be relaxed.

PARTICULARS: Applicants will have to take the CAT 2006. However, a candidate who has already earned a postgraduate diploma in management (PGDM) or a postgraduate diploma in computer management (PGDCM) from an IIM with a CGPA of 6 (or equivalent) or a postgraduate diploma in business management (PGDBM) from IIMC with CGP 6.5/9 and above need not take the CAT and apply directly. Each selected student will be given a stipend of Rs 10,000 to 11,000 per month and annual contingency grant of Rs 10,000 to 20,000. Application forms can be downloaded from www.iimcal.ac.in. While submitting forms, a demand draft for Rs 300 in favour of “Indian Institute of Management” needs to be enclosed with it. Alternatively, an application in plain paper specifying the number of areas applied for should reach the Administrative Officer (Fellow Programmes and Research), IIM Calcutta, Diamond Harbour Road, Joka, Calcutta, payable in Calcutta. There is no application fee for SC/ST students who should submit an attested copy of the SC/ST certificate. A candidate can apply for a maximum of two areas. In such cases two separate application forms (but only one demand draft for Rs 300) must be submitted.
