The fresher’s welcome function for the first year engineering students of Techno India College of Technology, New Town, was held at Bidyut Bhavan auditorium, Salt Lake, on August 26. The programme started with a dance drama followed by a dance show. The evening progressed with the Mr and Miss Fresher competition. Along with Bangla rock band Fossils, the college band Flam-es gave a great performance too.

Emotion in motion
On August 26, The Academy of Animation Arts and Technology held an animation filmmaking workshop. Animator Kireet Khurana conducted the workshop. According to him, the most important aspect of animation is expressing emotions through the characters. He said that animation wasn’t about drawing people; it is about drawings that move people. It is emotion in motion. He also spoke about the history of animation and films.
