AllBank net rises

Calcutta, Oct. 26: Allahabad Bank has reported a marginal 2.10 per cent increase in net profit for the first six months ended September 2006 at Rs 338.28 crore compared with Rs 331.33 crore for the same period in 2005-06.

The bank’s profits during the April-June period declined by 21.31 per cent to Rs 128.25 crore, which explains the benign profitability for the first six months taken together.

During the June-September quarter the bank’s net profit surged by 24.76 per cent to Rs 210.03 crore from Rs 168.35 crore in the year-ago period.
