TELL ME WHY

Do you know why a whale spouts water? Well, whales are air breathers like us and not gill breathers like fish. Most varieties of whales have their nostrils on top of their heads. If they surface after a deep dive they do so because they need a bout of fresh air. And before they breathe in a whiff of fresh air, they breathe out the old air from their lungs. This is when there’s a big whoosh sound and the water seems to spout. This spout is usually a big one and can be spotted from miles away.
