Deadline, as the name suggests, is all about time, tension and target. This film will see Konkona Sensharma in her third Hindi language film. She plays the role of a mother whose daughter, played by the cute little Princey Shukla, has been kidnapped. Her husband, Rajit Kapoor, is kept captive in some hotel and she herself is under house arrest by a creep, Irrfan. This charming mom Konkona can turn very fierce when it comes to protecting her family. Writer-director Tanveer Khan’s promises to have plenty of pace. The 24-hour breathstopping action-tension revolves around the kidnapping of a seven-year-old. The film begins in anticipation and ends with frightening lessons for all the characters.

The cinematography is by Baba Azmi, the screenplay-dialogue by Dileep Shukla and Bijon Dasgupta has handled the art direction.

There is also this super-sexy Sandhya Mridul who’s out there seeking money or vengeance, nobody knows. The motive of this femme fatale is a mystery in itself.

Unns, meaning love, affection and passion in Arabic, focuses on a couple where there is a serious lack of such emotions. Rituparna Sengupta is on to her next Hindi language film after Main Meri Patni Aur Woh, where she is opposite Sanjay Kapoor. This is director Bhupendra Gupta’s debut film though he has made videos before. In Unns, novelist Juhi Babbar tells us the story of a young couple, Rituparna-Sanjay, who also happen to be her friends.

Rituparna gets married to Sanjay, a warm-hearted man, on the rebound. After being ditched by Sudhanshu Pandde she marries Sanjay. Life must go on and she needs to forget Sudhanshu and hence the marriage.

But a chance meeting with Sudhanshu spoils everything for the young couple. And then starts the evident process of a relationship crumbling in the murkiest sort of way.

The film is full of intense emotions. There are two charged up emotional scenes — a confrontation scene between Rituparna and Sudhanshu, and later, another scene where Sanjay explains the significance of marriage to wife Rituparna who’s adamant about leaving him.
