Amanjyot in sole lead

Amanjyot Singh of Jaipur shot into sole lead with a two-under 68 in Category A of the Eastern India Junior/Sub Junior Golf Championship, which teed-off at Tollygunge Club on Tuesday.

Delhi’s Rashid Khan was three strokes behind the leader at 71 and close on his heels was Rudresh Sharma with a card of two-over 72 in the seventh leg on the National Junior/Sub Junior Tour.

In Category B, Chandigarh’s K. Raghav Bhandari was leading the fray with a one-over 71. Kapil Kumar and Rommel Mazumdar followed him at 75 and 76, respectively.

In Category C, Hemendra Chowdhary carded a round of four-over 74 to take the lead. He was followed by Rahul Ravi and Tarundeep Singh Chadha who shot seven-over 77 and eight-over 78, respectively.

Sudip century

Propelled by captain Sudip Chatterjee’s unbeaten 115, Bengal posted a mammoth 308 for four on Day I of their Polly Umrigar Trophy (under-15) match against Tripura at the James Long Sarani ground on Tuesday.
