PEOPLE

Antara Mali has gone international. Once the RGV muse failed the naach of Bollywood she vanished from the silver screen completely. She resurfaced with her directorial debut (Mr Ya Miss) but that too was a thumbs-down. Last heard, she had taken a demotion and had been assisting a friend in a European film.

Sallu took her for a ride...

And she wasn’t complaining as she found him to be really “hot”. Zuleyka Rivera, Miss Universe 2006, was floored (she’s in the habit of hitting the floor, anyway) by Salman’s charisma. And Sallu who’s pretty adept at this particular art, especially the kind needed to conquer the Universe/ World, took her for a ride — on his regular bike as well! Zuleyka’s opinion? “He has an amazing body and a great sense of humour.” She found that out on the bike?

Payal stripped again

First she was stripped of her glam image and wrapped up in a sari, now she has been stripped of the role itself. Director of Apna Sapna Money Money..? Sangeeth Sivan puts it very straight, “Payal is a wonderful person and her look in the film was very refreshing, but her track with Suniel was not working out and had to be sacrificed in the overall interest of the film.” Poor Payal, she can’t even voice her true feeling. “I still would love to work with them. There is so much more of me to come.” Payal would still say, the role might be snipped, the ‘big’ banners matter most. Well, at least people got to hear her name, once again. But does the poor girl need all this bad luck plaguing her?

SPOTLIGHT

Shveta out, but not down!

Pooja Bedi, the first contestant out of the celeb dance competition, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, has not only been flashing her ‘armcandy’ choreographer all over the place but she’s also flashing her razor sharp tongue to slice others. And Shveta Salve, the runners-up of the contest, is very cut up.

According to Pooja Bedi, Mona Singh, aka Jassi, deserved to win as she was a better human being! Now that has Shveta very very upset. “I’ve been very nice to all the contestants. If some of them got eliminated, is it my fault?” reasons Shveta. People like Pooja Bedi, even Rati Agnihotri, have not been too kind while commenting about her. Shveta’s mind-blowingly good dancing had sure got them ‘J’ (not for Jhalak)

But the allegations didn’t end there for Shveta. She was said to be a trained dancer and therefore not qualified for JDJ. Shveta got defensive saying, “Is it my fault if I dance well? Was I supposed to under-dance just to prove I'm untrained?” Well, perhaps, it’s this attitude of hers that made enemies for her.

She was also accused of not paying Longi her choreographer his rightful share. And there’s more.

But don’t fret, girl. They don’t have a Sanjay Leela Bhansali going gaga over their dancing talent. “Shveta is the best dancer in India and it is such a pleasure watching her dance. She reminds me of Madhuri Dixit. I’m honestly waiting for this show to end, so that I can whisk Shveta away and shoot a song with her. She is tremendous.”

So keep your chin up, Shveta, and that leg kicking!
