Punj Lloyd’s new order
Punj Lloyd Ltd has bagged an order valued at Rs 803.70 crore from Qatar Petroleum for a gas pipeline project. The order entails laying 97.2 km of gas pipeline, three new and six modification stations, decommissioning of the existing pipeline and demolition of nine existing stations, the company told the Bombay Stock Exchange. The contract is part of Doha urban pipeline relocations project. With the current contract, the order backlog for PLL group has gone up to Rs 13,394 crore.
Shopper’s Stop
Shopper’s Stop Ltd’s net profit in the quarter ended September 30 rose to Rs 7.4 crore from Rs 4.1 crore a year ago. The company’s retail turnover was Rs 220.2 crore against Rs 163.7 crore in the previous year. Gross margin rose to Rs 66.8 crore from Rs 45.8 crore.
IAFL profit
Indo Asian Fusegear Ltd’s (IAFL) net profit in the second quarter of this fiscal was Rs 4.34 crore. The company’s sales was Rs 55.23 crore in the quarter.
Goa Carbon
Goa Carbon Ltd’s net profit for the quarter ended September 30 was Rs 35.15 lakh compared with Rs 10.42 lakh a year ago. The company’s profit before tax was Rs 62.81 lakh against Rs 19.91 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Net sales was Rs 31.76 crore compared with Rs 28.64 crore a year ago.
Mukand
Mukand Ltd’s profit after tax was Rs 25.15 crore in the quarter ended September 30 against Rs 15.67 crore a year ago. Profit before exceptional items and tax was Rs 28.53 crore compared with Rs 15.89 crore in the previous year. Turnover in the quarter was Rs 534 crore against Rs 434 crore.
Madras net
Madras Cement Ltd’s net profit in the quarter ended September 2006 was Rs 90.1 crore against 18.8 crore a year ago, a growth of 378.8 per cent. Profit before tax was Rs 137.4 crore in the quarter compared with Rs 28.8 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. Net sales was up to Rs 407.3 crore from Rs 246.1 crore.
Areva T&D
Areva T&D India Ltd’s net profit in the quarter ended September 30 rose to Rs 36 crore from Rs 11.8 crore a year ago. The company’s order book position is at Rs 1,500 crore.
Diana Tea
Diana Tea Company Ltd’s operating profit in the third quarter of this fiscal was Rs 4.16 crore against Rs 1.19 crore a year ago. Net sales was Rs 10.21 crore compared with Rs 5.96 crore in the previous year. Earnings per share was Rs 1.08 against Rs 0.32 a year ago.
ABG Shipyard
ABG Shipyard Ltd’s net profit for the quarter ended September 30 was Rs 27.1 crore compared with Rs 18.9 crore a year ago. Net income was Rs 167.9 crore against Rs 113.9 crore.
