Forex reserves rise

Mumbai, Nov. 11: India’s forex reserves increased by $24 million to $167.116 billion during the week ended November 3 against $167.092 billion in the previous week. The reserves had increased by $939 million during the preceding week ended October 27. Foreign currency assets increased by $155 million to $160.391 billion during the week ended November 3, according to figures released by the Reserve Bank.

Tax evaders

Bangalore, Nov. 11: Union finance minister P. Chidambaram today said innovative search engines were being created to mine information and unearth tax evaders. He said limited information was coming in the way to reach tax evaders, but it would change.

Auto industry

Chennai, Nov. 11: The Indian automobile industry is passing through one of its finest phases and the growth in demand was matched by that in manufacturing capacity, Union IT and communications minister Dayanidhi Maran said today.
