I scream

Tasty two

I scream, you scream, we all love ice cream. Don’t we? And guess what? Ice cream is actually good for you. That is, if you have ice cream that has been made from camel’s milk. The Food and Agriculture Organisation says the vitamin C content in camel milk is three times higher than cow’s milk. It is also rich in iron, unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin B. A two-year project, that was launched in drought-affected Jaisalmer district, is trying to revive the industry by marketing camel’s milk to hotels and tourists visiting historic palaces and desert towns. And ice cream from camel’s milk tops the list of attractions. The ice cream is being made into two yummy flavours — saffron pistachio and strawberry vanilla. Now, this is one ice cream that your parents wouldn’t object to buying. So go ahead, and make the most of this opportunity.

Value education

Monkeys don’t merely monkey around. They are often well mannered. In fact, monkeys from south India are more “civilised and “cultured” than their north Indian cousins, according to Leonard A. Rosenblum, a professor of psychiatry, University of New York. For example, in the south, if a mother monkey dies other monkeys in the group adopt the baby unlike in the north where they simply abandon an infant.
