I Passed My BTech in electronics and communication engineering in 2005 with 70 per cent marks. I want to pursue an MTech in electronics and communication engineering from a Canadian university. Is it possible to apply to a foreign university or college for postgraduate study with only a TOEFL score? Does the subject depend on the marks I got in BTech or do they want a TOEFL or GRE score? Can I pursue an MTech in any other subject ?

Gautam

For admission into an MTech programme in Canada, you need a four-year bachelors degree in engineering with 70 per cent average and a TOEFL (paper-based test) score of 580-600 (CBT 237-250). Some universities also ask for a GRE score of 1200-1500. To study a postgraduate degree, one will usually need a bachelors degree in a relevant subject. If you wish to do a postgraduate course in a different subject, you will need to do a bridge course or a postgraduate certificate first.
