SUBJECT: XLRI invites applications for admission to the personnel management and industrial relations (PMIR) course and to the business management course that offers specialisation in finance, information systems, marketing, operations management and strategic management.

ELIGIBILITY: A three-year bachelors degree or an equivalent in any discipline from a recognised university. Those completing their final exams by June 2007 may also apply. Candidates will be chosen on the basis of their XLRI admission test (XAT) scores and a personal interview.

PARTICULARS: The XAT bulletin and the XLRI prospectus can be obtained from any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI)on payment of Rs 700. It can also be picked up in person from the XAT office at XLRI in Jamshedpur on the payment of the above-mentioned amount. To register for the examination, you have to log on to www.xlri.edu and click on the XAT registration link. You will then get the XAT form that you need to fill in online with your personal details, the XAT bulletin number, the date on which you picked it up and the name of the SBI branch you obtained it from. As soon as you submit the form online, you will get your XAT ID and password. Then download and print a copy of the payment-advice-cum-photo-form (XAT PP Form).

The printed copy of your XAT PP form, along with a copy of the bank pay-in slip, should be sent to the XAT office at the Xavier Labour Relations Institute at Jamshedpur. You should keep a copy of the printout of your XAT ID and password for any modification to personal details and for taking a print out of XAT 2007 admit card which will be available at the website later in December. You also need your XAT ID and password for any future correspondence with the XAT office.

SUBJECT: Calcutta University invites applications for admission to the one-year postgraduate diploma course in book publishing.

ELIGIBILITY: A bachelors degree in any course from a recognised university. Candidates will be chosen on the basis of an entrance examination and a personal interview.

PARTICULARS: The application form can be obtained from the sales counter of the College Street campus of Calcutta University by paying Rs 200 in cash. The form can also be downloaded from www.caluniv.ac.in. A demand draft favouring PGDBP, CU, payable in Calcutta will have to be attached with the downloaded form at the time of submission. The entrance examination will be held on December 17, 2006 and the results will be declared on December 28, 2006.
