| What
is your dance ballet Krishna Rasa about?
I always thought that Krishna’s
life is a story of supreme magic and wonder. He has millions
of devotees not only in India but also all over the world.
He is the purnavatar or complete divinity because he’s
loved as a child, as a romantic young lover, as a warrior
whose skill and knowledge of warfare is unparallel. I am
proud that I will play the roles of all the four women (Yashodha,
Radha, Draupadi and Meera) who were closely associated with
him through the four stages of his life.
What is your take as an actress?
I am an performer, I only perform the characters. You say
I am good, I feel happy, but let me tell you that I just
get enveloped by the character while performing. I don’t
have any other thoughts in the mind.
How much professional advice do you give Esha?
In fact, I am there with her in all her major and minor
decisions that she has to take and she always takes and
follows my guidelines for whatever she has to do. Both my
girls for that matter are really very obedient.
You have been a successful actress, dancer and
mother.
Oh! Being a mother makes me feel very proud. Motherhood
is a very precious and beautiful thing that happens in the
life of a woman. It makes me very proud that I am a mother.
I take care of both my daughters and love them very much.
Dancing has always been my passion and now I have little
time, so I like to perform and also impart some knowledge
to the girls and boys of today.
What is your mantra for beauty. How have you been able to maintain it?
There is no mantra. I try to take
nutritious and proper diet. Mental strength and a clear
mind matter most.
In your latest film Baabul
you are working with the Chopra camp again?
They are very professional and
very disciplined and very good people. It makes me feel
good to work with them once again. They have given me a
vital role even at this stage of my life. Such roles happen
very rarely.
