TELL ME WHY

Do you know why chewing gums don’t melt in your mouth? Well, chewing gums or chiclets (derived from the word chicle, the latex sap from the rubber tree) are another form of rubber. So just like rubber bands don’t dissolve when you chew them, neither does chicle. Gum bases (either natural or artificial) are mixed with sugar and other flavouring agents to make chewing gum. Though chiclets are much softer than rubber, you cannot ignore the fact that the chewing gum you are enjoying is actually rubber in a flavoured and tastier form.
