The phone flew back and forth so many times, Chelsea was beginning to feel dizzy. “Raven!” she cried.
“Fine,” snapped Raven, copping an attitude. “If you don’t want to do it, just say so.” She took a deep breath, strolled away from Chelsea, dialled Matthew’s number, and waited for him to answer.
“Hello, Matthew,” Raven said in a voice perkier than a cheerleader’s. “It’s me . . . Chelsea, Raven’s friend.”
Across the room, Chelsea’s jaw dropped. She raced over to Raven and tried to pull the phone away — with no success.

And let me just tell you, you are, like, so lucky, because she had so many offers that night. So you two lovebirds have a good time. All right, bye.”
As Raven hung up, Chelsea stared at her in disbelief. Hands on hips, she said, “Okay, first of all, I don’t talk that way —”
Chelsea frowned when she listened to her own voice — and realised she actually did sort of talk that way. Sighing with frustration, she added, “And hello, your parents said you can’t go!”
“Actually, I just had a vision that my parents were dancing in the living room,” Raven explained. “And there’s only one night when they go dancing: Saturday. It’s perfect. They’ll never know.”
“Okay, let me make it, like, so un-perfect. When you’re on your date, who’s going to baby-sit Cory?” Chelsea asked.
