Huawei supply to BSNL
Huawei Technologies has supplied optical networking gear to BSNL to augment its bandwidth. The company has provided STM-64 (10 gbps) next generation product and solutions to BSNL. The size of the deal was not disclosed by the company. BSNL’s optical fibre network spans over 640,000 km across the country. The company is looking at augmenting its bandwidth to meet the growing requirement of traffic by exploiting the optical fibre resource.
PayMate
PayMate, an M-commerce solutions company, is targeting offline merchant sign-ups that include both large chains and stand-alone establishments in the retail sector. The company has introduced a voice-based module for the retail industry.
Tata Steel
Tata Steel sold 4.1 million tonnes (mt) of hot metal and 3.17 mt of crude steel in the first nine months of this fiscal. Saleable steel production was at 3.66 mt, an 11 per cent rise over the previous year. Total sales of the company were at 3.532 mt.
SAIL output
Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) produced 3.318 million tonnes (mt) of saleable steel in the third quarter of this fiscal. Its sales were at 3.014 million tonnes. In the first nine months of the fiscal, the company’s plants operated at an average capacity utilisation of 112 per cent, producing 9.328 mt of saleable steel.

Sundaram Infotech Solutions, the IT services arm of Sundaram Finance Ltd, has launched SmartLend Lite, a customised IT solutions offering for small- and mid-sized NBFCs and banks in India and west Asia for their retail lending activities. The company will initially implement the solution for an NBFC in Punjab.

Milieus, a division of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd, has been launched in the city. Milieus range of products target therapy segments such as anti-infective, cough and cold, analgesics and gastroenterology.
GEI Hamon
GEI Hamon Industries Ltd has bagged an order worth Rs 23 crore from Jaypee Associates Ltd for their captive power plants. The order book position of the company is at Rs 112 crore against Rs 45 crore on December 30, 2005.

e-Rev-Max is planning to build a 60,000-sq-ft development centre. The company operates in 60 countries and 415 cities.
