Chennai: Len Aiyappa scored twice to steer Bangalore Lions to a 2-1 win over Maratha Warriors, in the Premier Hockey League (PHL) here Friday. Aiyappa scored through a penalty corner in the sixth minute of the newly-introduced ‘silver goal time’ to settle the issue following a 1-1 stalemate.

Earlier Aiyappa gave his team the lead in the 14th minute before Warriors equalised through Gurbaj Singh (26th). In another match, Sher-E-Jalandhar pipped Chandigarh Dynamos 1-0, through Jarnil Singh’s 44th minute effort. (PTI)
