CA dress code

New Delhi, Jan. 31 (PTI): The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India today prescribed a dress code for its practising members.

According to the code, men will have to wear the Indian national dress — a long buttoned-up coat on dhoti or kurta pyjama — or full-sleeve shirts with trousers and shoes, the institute said in a release.

For its women members, the dress code would be saree, salwar kameez or trousers and shirt, it added.

Members are also encouraged to wear a suit or a blazer preferably with a tie that has the institute’s logo emblazoned on it, the release said, adding the dress code is recommendatory in nature.

However, the dress of members who are employed shall be governed by the rules of the organisation concerned.

The members are required to adhere to the dress code particularly when they represent the institute before any statutory authority or when attending a business meeting or any other important event.
