Arrested without passport

The Criminal Investigation Department on Sunday arrested six Bangladeshis at a hideout near Ruby General Hospital for allegedly not carrying valid passports. The six were produced at Alipore Court and remanded in police custody. Officers claimed that three of the men are among the most wanted criminals in Bangladesh.

Body found

The body of a six-year-old orphan, Biltu, was fished out from a pond near Deshbandhunagar in Sodepur, on the northern fringes of the city, on Sunday afternoon. Police said the boy had been adopted by a local resident. He had gone missing from his house on Friday. The boy might have drowned, according to preliminary investigation.

An army school will be inaugurated at Ballygunge Maidan Camp on Monday. It will be affiliated to the CBSE board and will admit civilians.

Milestone

The 150th anniversary of the Alipore Bar Association will be observed on March 31 and April 1 on its premises.
